The world's only single-source for both EB and UV energy curing systems

  How it works

  • High voltage is applied to tungsten filaments inside a vacuum chamber.
  • Filaments are super-heated electrically to generate a cloud of electrons.
  • Electrons are drawn from the cloud and accelerated to extremely high speeds.
  • Accelerated electrons pass through a foil window to penetrate the target product. Electrons cause desired molecular changes in the product .

EB processing is extremely precise and can be controlled to provide the exact level of cure desired. This is done with a computerized system that controls the dose and penetration depth of the electrons. The resulting molecular changes strengthen polymers; cure inks, coatings and adhesives;  increase scratch, scuff and abrasion resistance; increase chemical resistance and create memory for shrink film.

The process is virtually instantaneous, the system operates at room temperature and, since EB inks, coatings and adhesives are 100% solids, there are no emissions, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other air pollutants!

EB systems are also extremely safe. For additional information, see Safety.
