ESI, Comexi & Sun Chemical Partner for Demo Site

August 20, 2007 Wilmington, MA

ESI, the world’s premier Electron Beam (EB) supplier announces its agreement to establish a new demonstration center with COMEXI (press manufacturing company of Spain). The focus of this European demonstration center will be Sun Chemical’s WetFlexTM, the wet-on-wet flexographic printing process using EB cured UniQureTM ink system, on a Comexi 10 color C.I. press FW-2110 model.

Demonstrations to prospective customers are expected to start in October 2007. These customers can expect to witness first hand the high quality printing process that requires no interstation drying at speeds of up to 350 m/min. The UniQure patented EB cured ink technology, used with the WetFlex printing process, are manufactured without VOC’s making it environmentally friendly and eliminating the need for incineration or recovery systems. The robust UniQure ink technology has high gloss, high color efficiency and uses higher anilox and plate resolution than conventional inking systems, allowing the best printing quality in flexography.

Prospective customers will be able to see the ability to print wet-on-wet inks on a substrate and have the EZCure system cure all of the inks in one pass through the EB system.
